i'm back...

So, it's been a while. Here's why:

Baby gets high fever for four days, ruining his first birthday party and forcing us to kick out assembled family members to take him to the clinic on Easter Sunday.

The next day, I leave home to spend the week in Ottawa for work-related meetings.

A hefty dose of mom guilt ensues.

Meanwhile, it turns out he has roseola.

Husband stays home from work for two days to take care of sick baby.

More guilt.
More guilt.
More guilt.

... and so on.

Anyway, I am home, baby is much better and I think everyone has recovered. But today... today is his one-year checkup, which means he will get stuck with multiple needles. It's always something.

man, the needles were torture (on mom!) I remember those days! Hang in there. I can related to the guilt, it's so hard to be away when you feel like they need you most. I'm sure hubby did a great job, though. Glad you're back, hope the checkup goes okay.

ohhhh, poor baby, poor mama! Don't feel guilty, your prior posts belie what a good mom you are...I must plead ignorance to roseola though...
