les miserables

Here are five reasons why I’m starting out the second of two pretty crappy weeks:
  1. Evan had croup last week and stayed home for three days feeling terrible and sounding like a pack-a-day smoker.
  2. Now both Dave and I both have colds that we got from him (shaking fist violently at new preschool).
  3. You-know-who has stepped up the climbing out of bed routine, rendering us unable to sleep off our colds.
  4. In my current state, I can’t take any cold medicine that will do anything (shaking fist violently at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration).
  5. I just found out that I have to travel for work in two weeks. Pregnancy + unhealthy airport food + airplane travel = unhappy Bearca.

On the plus side, I seem to have rediscovered my love of Rice Krispies. Odd, I know. But delicious.

Sorry for the non-merry-go-round you guys are riding on. No one can escape the kid illness!

I would love the rice krispies too if they ended in the word "treat". :)

Rt had croup as well this year. No barking, but soft wheezing. Poor things.

I had to travel a lot for work while pregnant. NOT FUN. I actually got in a slight war with a flight attendant on one such trip: I was seated in coach, where the line for the lavatories was running about 8 deep. Being that a had a tiny person seated directly atop my bladder, I had to go. I noticed that there was no one in the first class lavatory (happily, I was seated in the first row of coach seats), so I started making my way up there, asking some of the first class passengers if they minded, which none of them did. A douchebag male flight attendant then blocked my path and, in full view of my (fairly prominent) belly, told me to go wait in line back in coach. I'm happy to say that there IS good in the world, because before I could even say anything, the first class passengers started booing him/telling him that he was being ridiculous.

Needless to say, I got to pee in first class. The lavender soap was divine.

In any case, I hope your trip goes smoothly, and that you and David are feeling better soon!!

(Why yes, this IS the longest comment ever.)

Sorry to hear you're having a tough week. Hope those Rice Krispies are Rice Krispy Treats... like the marshmellow kind. ;) They cheer me up, hope they do you!
